Sedum Autumn Joy
Day light is longer and shadows are getting shorter but it’s still winter and cold. I’m turning my attention to perennials in my garden that have winter interest. Autumn Joy is one such perennial. This drought tolerant succulent is poking up buds through the cold soil now, letting us know that spring is on the way. This resilient sedum is easy to grow and loved by butterflies too.
The image above is a charcoal drawing I did in 2009 of this perennial. It grows happily in my flower garden.
