Water ripples in the sea are mesmerizing to watch. When I swim, I love to watch them on the surface of the sea and and at the same time, peek past them to the sandy ocean floor. These one of a kind earrings capture both the surface ripples and sea weed passing under them.
Details include sterling silver oxidized earrings with etched sea weed, polished edges, 925 international sterling silver stamp, wire wrapped ear wires and corrugated bead detail.

Sea Glass rings are the perfect summer jewelry to wear to the beach. Blue beach glass is a special find, this round piece in particular. This hand made, one of a kind sea glass ring has a dots to view under the glass like the ocean floor, and 2 granulated gold balls flanking the bezel set glass. .

Jewelry often commemorates special events in our lives such as birthdays, anniversaries and other such life events. I felt compelled to give expression to my feelings about the unprecedented current world events, including the pandemic. Sculptural pendant cracked silver, broken metal heat stressed silver.
Vertical bar necklaces come in many variations. I fabricated this one of a kind, one inch pendant from distressed sterling silver and three 14 karat gold, graduated balls. The surface softly reflects light as you move.
This sculptural piece coordinates with dress up or dress down and any season. Wear it with gold or silver earrings.

Vertical bar mixed metal necklace is one of a kind.
I did this plein air mixed media pastel and water color on textured water color paper at Cedar Beach, New York walking trail. In the height of summer on a very hot and sunny day I sat outside and worked. I love how the cedar trees punctuate the landscape, they are the essence of Long Island landscape. I visit this beautiful spot often and continue to draw there.

Sea glass comes in many colors. The most easy found colors are white, green and brown. They all compliment the cool silver tones and the frosty etched glass surface is a nice compliment to a highly polished sterling silver. Below is a custom made green beach glass in the shape of a flip flop.
Believe it or not, I wear my sea glass rings when I swim. The sea water cleans the sterling silver and the sea glass is feeling at home being back in the water. It’s great not to have to worry about jewelry when your at the beach!

It the first day of summer today! Farm stands are filled with lush vegetables this time of year. I can’t resist drawing some of the fresh and vibrant produce. Now that I’ve drawn eat, time to eat it!

I just love the summer season here on Long Island! I’m very active swimming, jumping, enjoying a good read while sunning, kayaking and walking. I’m constantly in and out of the water. It’s a fun and active season.
Do you wear jewelry to the beach in the summer? One pair of earrings, like the Atlantic Slipper Shell earrings I’m wearing works for me. They add some polish to my causal beach wear. Metal jewelry can get hot in the sun but these work well reflecting the light beautifully without getting hot on your skin in the summer sun. I even wear these in the water.

Recently someone ordered earrings because she needed something beautiful to wear. I was touched! It feels good to make something beautiful and put it out in the world to make others happy.
I enjoy making variations of this handmade wire hoop earring by changing the focal point bead and findings. The hoop below has a Swarovski AB finished crystal focal point bead. Nice when you need a bit of sparkle. The hoop beneath has a black onyx bead with fine silver and gold filled findings. The change of bead creates a very different look with using the same sterling silver hoop. Both earrings are ultra light and so comfortable to wear.

Mandala earrings on my bench
I work out the details of new designs in cooper, then move on to precious metals.
This morning I’m at my workbench sawing a sheet of sterling silver metal for a special design. I’m creating both a large and small version of a mandala earring design shown in the image below.
I love the light weight quality of these earrings. In the design process, earrings need to pass the test of being fashionable,lightweight and comfortable. I’ve been wearing my cooper demo pair ( in the image below) and I’m happy to report that they passed all the tests.

I enjoy how versatile vertical bar necklaces are. They are great for layering or worn separately. The geometric shapes are a classic minimal look too.

Stud earrings, I never have enough of them. They are a great choice for a Mothers Day gift which is a week away. I’m wearing a pair of stud earrings from my signature collection of silver jewelry. The unprecedented times of the Covid-19 pandemic are fraught with stress, worry and misinformation. To manage social distancing I’m staying in touch with friends virtually. Thank goodness for Zoom. I’m also helping at the hospital where I work, taking care of family and challenging myself to learn new things.
During lockdown I’m trying to make lemonaid out of lemons. In an online class given by the talented metalsmith, Leslie Kail Villarreal, I learned to make the gorgeous, light weight mandala earring I’m wearing. They are a different design direction from my geometric signature collection of jewelry but that’s OK. I was challenged and distracted from the constant stream of bad pandemic new. These earrings are my go to choice for everyday too. At home, going to work or other casual ware they work great. I love versatility!
The design inspiration of these buff textured sterling silver earrings comes from the Atlantic Slipper Shell. I see this shell in abundance while walking on the shores of the Long Island Sound. The Atlantic Slipper Shell is eaten as an Italian delicacy and is called “Oo moonch”.
Black is a go to color for silver hair. It’s a good choice for salt and pepper and gray hair too.
I’m wearing one of my handmade jewelry pieces, a sterling silver, bezel set necklace on a black tee shirt. I enjoy the way this longer 19 inch necklace sits at the edge of the neckline and doesn’t pop underneath my shirt.
The sterling silver handmade oval bezel features a dendritic agate. If you look closely at this gorgeous agate, you’ll see all the little crystal like dendrites and some lovely red inclusions too. This stone by nature has micro fissures in it’s surface that are part of it’s character.

I like use a sand-like texture on sterling silver pieces. The stippled texture creates a contrast to the shiny, riveted surface in my pendant bracelet. (Above right) This texture reminds me of the sand I walk on during my daily beach walk.
